Less than a week ago (May 2015) one of Actin’s team was contacted and asked to investigate this terrible case; a dog tied up on a chain in a hidden cave in a horrible town in Murcia where animals are treated like garbage…
On arrival they found this most pathetic and sad sight and because of what he suffered they named him Valiente, (Brave). Valiente attached to a short chain, old, skinny, sick and hardly able to move, the saddest of souls. He was about to give up, the rescuers were just in time to help him – before he succumbed to his life of misery.
Valiente is about 10 years old, so sad to think someone had him living this hell for all his life and caused him to be in such pain and endure such suffering. His condition as diagnosed by the vet; arthritis atrophy, osteoarthritis atrophy, cachexy, and sclerosis in the eye, amazingly he is not positive for leishmania.
Currently in care and being given as much love, attention, healing and tender love as posible, he continues to recover (we hope). He is still dehydrated but there are small improvements. In spite of him now having a bed to lie on and the comforts he deserves, he still chooses to lie on the stoney ground, or on a hard surface, he has never known any different.
We want to believe there is someone out there who will be willing to give him a chance, for him to know what it is to have a proper home and a family and show him what it is to be loved. We hope he will be well enough to see that happen soon.
We are denouncing the person responsible for this. Every case like this is now being registered theough the PAES Project, and will be presented to show just how bad the situation is in Spain. We want others to follow. Please join the PAES Project
