Scooby Medina appeals for homes for beautiful podencos

Scooby Kilo 04 2011 250 This is a plea from Scooby Medina looking for foster and forever homes for these beautiful podencos. Here’s what Eva says. ‘The Refugio Abyda shelter in Jaen needs help. Scooby and I have been able to rescue 6-8 dogs in the last few months, but we are packed at the shelter, so I can’t take any more dogs into our shelter unless they already have a place to go. Please contact Scooby if you can help. These beauties so deserve to know love and comfort for the rest of their lives.

Kiko is podenco of about 5 years, measuring 56 cm and weighs 11 kg. He was very malnourished when found but is now in good health and should gain even a little weight. An art student found him abandoned on the street. He watched the dog for several days, scrabbling around the garbage bins. He was sorry for him and put him in a flat used as a studio for painting. The problem is that the people there

don’t want the animal there, so the situation is untenable and a place for him must be found urgently. Kiko is very sociable with both dogs and cats, good with children, loving and kind and patient. Video of Kiko and cats and children

abydajaen@hotmail.com or Scooby Dumbo 1 04 2011 250 Dumbo is about 1 ½ years old and measures 47 cm. He’s a beautiful Podenco X, which an Abyda volunteer found abandoned, in the vicinity of a supermarket in Malaga, when he was only about 5 months old. No one has ever shown any interest in him, which is so sad, because he is male, but people should try to look beyond that and know that Dumbo is a very noble dog, has lived a few days with a cat without any problem and would give absolute loyalty to anyone who will give him a home, either on his own or with other animals, because he is very sociable. He is now losing interest in life, stuck in the shelter. Please can anyone offer him the loving home he deserves.

Scooby Susti 2 04 2011 250 Susti is about 2 years of age and 45 cm, who was vound by an Abyda volunteer abandoned, in a field with her Breton Spaniel friend. The volunteer took them home, but his mother would not let him have them there and turned them out on the streets. As soon as our volunteer was advised of what had happened to these two dogs, he went looking for them immediately. It was raining early in the morning, but luckily he found them and took them to our shelter. They were soaked and very scared. But you could see in their eyes that they were two wonderful dogs. They both were very attached, We knew it would be very difficult to find an adoption so they could live together. A few months ago Susti also had the chance of a forever home, but because she was positive for Leishmania, they decided not to adopt her. Treatment against Leishmania is quite cheap (no more than about 15 euros on average per month). It is very unfair for that reason, that Susti does not get a home. Will anyone give Susti a chance?

Scooby Roby 2 04 2011 250 Roby is about 2 ‘5 and is 40 cm. He was found abandoned in a field. The people took him into their home for a few days but eventually took him to our shelter and now he has been waiting for more than a year for a forever family. He is a very sociable dog and very good. No problems with anyone. Just wants to be caught in the arms and to give love. He’s not asking a lot … But no one seems willing to want to help. The hounds here in Spain have very bad luck, so we need to look for a family for him outside of our country, someone who can see the wonderful dog who is Roby.
