Little Podenco Peanut hoping for a forever home
Let’s find a home for little PeanutHow could anyone not fall in love with this lovely little boy?
He’s just the perfect size to have a snuggle with as you can see from the photo here with his foster mummy aunty Sue.
Peanut is just over a year old, and is still only really a baby.
He’s spent the last couple of months in a foster home to help him overcome his nervousness and to bring him out of his shell.Although initially he was extremely shy and timid he is gradually step by step learning to trust.
Peanut was particularly nervous around men but he’s overcome that fear and is now comfortable in male company.

Physiotherapy for your dog
Several years ago when I adopted my galgo Polar from Pepis Refuge in Pedrera, I consulted a canine physio for treatment to his damaged hind knee joint. It was interesting to see that the work she did on him was very similar to that used by my physio on me when I injured my shoulder.

Cordoba – 25 podencos in a rehala in terrible conditions
Read the full article hereA rehala is where the dogs are hired out to hunters.
The Seprona of the Civil Guard has intervened, at the request of the Galgos del Sur animal protection association, 25 hunting dogs from a rehala that were in “poor conditions” in the municipality of Hornachuelos .
The association, as reported this Monday in a statement, has taken care of a dozen , while the other 13 animals have been distributed among the Hornachuelos City Council and other rehalers.
One of the dogs was dead, still on the end of its chain! Seprona is the arm of the Spanish police to whom cases of cruelty are reported and they have the power to take the cases to court.

Podenca Chiara – desperately needing to get out of a hellhole
This is the sad story of an older podenca, who has given years of loyalty to a bloody hunter – this is he!). Sadly not an unusual tale.‘Chiara is 9 years old and gave all her life to a hunter that happily for her didn’t want her anymore. Seeing where she’s living broke my heart, I hope she can get out of there very soon.
She weighs around 12 kgs and so sweet and calm. (so underweight!)
She really deserves living the rest of her life feeling loved and care. She is in Murcia area but can travel anywhere.’
If you can help Chiara escape the hellhole, please contact Martina
