Do you remember the appeal for help for Chas and Dave, two podenco puppies rescued in Cadiz and needing foster and forever homes. We arranged for them to go to Bev Farmer in Murcia and here is a fabulous photo of them with her husband Warren. That’s the two boys, the tinies each side of the other podencos. Contact Bev if you can offer one of them a forever home.

Lila and Luna are both sterilised, the other two are Kika (standing on the blue rug) and Hada. Please contact Carmina if you can take one into your heart and home. (She speaks excellent English)

3 podencos from Seville to Murcia – please donate to transport costs
Meet podencos Chas and Dave. 3 months old, they were found abandoned in Cadiz and Bev Farmer has said she will take them. She’s also offered to take podenco Solo, who has been with Pepis Dog Refuge in Seville where no one has shown any interest in this lovely boy. Chris Marshall has said he can collect the 3 podencos from Seville and take them to Bev in Murcia on 5th July. The cost is 75 euros per dog. Funds are now desperately needed to pay for the transport, so if you can help, please paypal band@bbrennan.eu as a gift and mark it ‘podencos’. For adoption of them, email Bev

Valencia perrera – podencas on death row
Podenca female, very shy, afraid if you speak to her, she looks like she is paralyzed, completely still. As if she doesn’t see anyone. She has a lot of sadness in her eyes. She is with the ‘invisible’ small oldie podenca. And another oldie – CESE fast track podenca, born in 2003, too old to hunt. Her name is Joya. She is in total shock, does not move, does not look at you, stares at the wall, does not respond to an affectionate word. Looks as though she has had a rough life. Her owner did not go to the vet because he wants the dirty work of killing her to be done by someone else and not pay for it!

Little Pod Association – why we do it – Join the auction
I receive dozens of photos each week of galgos and podencos needing help; the ones which really break my heart are the puppies and injured dogs. This photo was the first one I receive of a puppy in a perrera, due to be killed. I appealed to Tina at Galgos del Sol, the little pup was saved from Jerez perrera in January 2011, and called Angela after her foster mom. Sadly little Angela fell sick of parvo disease and died the following month. But her legacy lives on in Little Pod Foundation and Angela tells the story of their work and why they do what they do.
