Galgos France working with two British podenco rescue associations. News from GF website.

17/2/2017 Two of our protégés came out last week from the hell of the Canary pound: Bryonny and Rosetta are in a pension in Tenerife while waiting to leave for Irene in Alicante (Hope for Podencos) who will take care of them and arrange supplementary tests while awaiting adopters.

They will join Tianna who will soon leave with host family in the United Kingdom and Erica.

So there are 6 podencos sponsored by Galgos France that are still impounded. Penelope, Sweets, Spinet, Smiley, Lottie and Nancy …. Hopefully they survive until their release …

The two associations “Hope for Podenco” and “Saving Gran Canaria Podencos” are doing an enormous job. Already many dogs have left Spain to the United States, the United Kingdom and even France; 2 already and soon a third + ASSO Alert which must come up soon 7.

If you go on vacation in the Canary Islands or if you know people, please say so; We are desperately looking for travelers who would accept to put dogs on their ticket …. And to help Alert Asso to bring them back to France.

If you want to follow the rescues, you can find both associations on Facebook. They have enormous expense and are struggling to cope. The veterinary expenses accumulate because many podencos are infected and must follow treatments for the filiarose. Any financial assistance is welcome.
