Portuguese Podengo Thomas – with Many Tears Rescue, Wales

Many Tears Tom 190Here’s the story of Tom, a Portuguese Podengo x rescued and now with Many Tears Rescue in Wales. He’s looking for his forever family, along with another 9 Podencos – all in the UK in foster. June writes.

‘Learning to be loved:

With all your help we have been able to save a number of dogs that were all going to die on the streets of Portugal.

These dogs have been doing really well, some are now in permanent homes, whilst others are still awaiting their special day!

om made his way to my family. Tom is a happy go lucky kind of a guy, but even with his chirpy character and live life to the full attitude you can still see that his soul
bears scars of his former life! He truly believed that hands were a source of pain and something to be feared, he has been with me just under three weeks now and is just starting to understand that hands can make food and toys appear. If you moved too
swiftly he would whimper believing a smack was coming his way!

What amazes me is his ability to forgive and move on, he trusts us now and is turning into a really cheeky chap. He has a lot of basic training to do, but is going to be the most awesome friend and family member!!

Tom has been to a few agility shows with me and captured many peoples hearts. I think he would really excel at a job which used his head!’

If you would like to meet Tom and offer him a forever home, please contact Many Tears.

Many Tears is a wonderful rescue based in Wales that re-homes mainly ex breeding dogs, a lot from puppy farms. They have also rescued ten beautiful podengos from the streets of Portugal. They have all different breeds of dogs needing understanding homes. The dogs need lots of love and care, some of the dogs have been kept in a box and continually bred from. Really sad but this wonderful rescue gives them hope.
