To spend some time with Bev and Warren and all their foster podencos in Murcia – well, a few are permanent residents – was a fabulous experience. I offered to help with the dogs but they were organised, they had their routine, so I did as I was told! Walking on the campo with Bev and the young hounds, watching her training them on recall was fabulous.
I did blot my copybook once though. I decided I’d clear up the dog poo in the first compound. It’s only what I do every day in our courtyard. So I grabbed the handles of the wheelbarrow and shovel in the compound and off I went. I felt I was doing a sterling job and was nearly finished when Bev appeared with a bucket and a plastic sack. She took one look at me and burst into fits of laughter! Apparently I was using Warren’s concreting wheelbarrow!
We hastily scraped the dog poo into the bucket, washed the wheelbarrow and all was well. I did admit my faux pas to Warren, assured him his wheelbarrow was well clean – and all was well!
