As usual, my recent visit to Spain was full of action and, even better, rescued dogs! You can read about my visit to ACTIN on this link. From there I spent a couple of days with Bev and Warren and their 26 podencos at the finca they recently moved to. Most of the podencos are waiting for their forever homes, including Solo and Carina. Little puppy Sky and his best buddy Rembrandt already have adoptions arranged, as does Dave and little Maneto Lily. Please contact Bev if you would like more information on her podencos. She will shortly have a website where you can see them all.
Enjoy this video of some of the podencos at play.
I was especially pleased to meet Lucia and Malaika and see the horrendous scars they carry from their maltreatment as puppies. Bev tells me she believes it was done to paralyse them. They will stay with Bev forever.
Besides Solo and Carina, there is a selection of other pix, enjoy them.
Solo (above and left) is a beautiful Podenco Andaluz, now 5 years old. He was dumped at a refuge as a puppy and has been waiting for a forever home all that time. Bev is hoping he will be successful with her. He especially likes to share Warren’s lap and is a real sweetie. He will make a wonderful companion, especially as he’s left the naughty puppy stage well behind him!
Carina and I jelled and I’d like to have put her in my case to bring home – but I’d never get away with her as ‘cabin luggage’! She is older, 8 years old, and again a very sweet, gentle soul who would like nothing more than to share a sofa with someone special. (Just waiting for photo)
