You may remember Lucia, a Podenca Andaluz whose back had been sliced from shoulder to tail and left to heal on its own. this little podenco is similar in looks and size and not far from the same area where Lucia was abandoned. Bev Farmer reports.
‘I had a call from a golf course about a podenco that had been there for a couple of months.
We went to try and catch her, nearly caught her 3 times but it was not to be and after 8 hours and night time we called it a day. Tried again the following day but she had learnt that if she follows the golf carts, the players feed her, so she leads us a merry dance so no joy. Have left strict instruction they are not to feed her and we will try again tomorrow.
However, my vet can dart so, if no luck, he will come down next week. She comes close to you and I managed to get her to lie by me and touch her but she was too fast to catch.
But she is another Podenco that has had her back sliced from the shoulder to tail and left to heal on its own. Its very similar to Lucia, my other Podenco; they are similar in looks and same size and not far from the same area.
Fingers crossed we can get this girl. There are also a couple of galgos abandoned and running lose on the golf course too.’

This is dreadful… Can you say which gold course this is? We have an apartment on a golf resort in Murcia and found a Podenca that had moved in there… We took her to the vets and she was chipped and had the rabis jab so we were able to return her to her owner… Im praying it is not the same dog and she ran away for a reason. Her name was Lara and she is a beautiful girl. We were going to bring her back to the uk if she was a stray but obvoiusly she had an owner that had reported her missing so had to be returned. I hope you catch this dog and return her to health. Why would this happen… I pray this is not the dog we found previously…
