A story with a Happy Ending. This is Sonia, a Podenco Portuguese, who spent most of the 12 years of her life in a shelter in Portugal. Last month her dream of a forever home came true when she was adopted into a loving home to join 5 more podencos, plus other oldies!
She was adopted from the association Aanifeira. I’ve only just learnt about them from Betty, who adopted Sonia to join her family of oldies, but I hope to get more information about their work.

Sonia is now 2 weeks with us and she is doing great, she likes to sleep on the sofa and needs a bit of time to learn that she can walk freely. We are so happy to have adopted her. Please remember older dogs make great pets!
