This is Laila, an eleven year old podenca. She is now in the care of Silvia of Galgo Connection Spain. Here is what she says.
‘As you can see, Laila has a big tumour and has bred a lot of puppies. Her owner didn’t want to help the old girl and took her to the killing station. She was there about a month. I was waiting for someone to help her but finally, I thought, I have to do something and the best is to operate on her. So she is now booked in to the vet to have the tumour removed.
At the moment we have some dogs who need special care, like galgo Ken with his wheels, podenco Frank, Sari a galga with mouth problems. Please, if anyone can donate towards vet fees, we will be very grateful. Many thanks!! Of course, we will look for adoption as soon as she recovers.’
Silvia does not accept adoptions from outside Spain, other than the special cases which are supported by GRIN in the USA.

oh god that is so awful poor old girl, she must be so scared and in pain, pray that the removal of tumour is a success and she can go into loving home for the rest of her days.
The comfort is that she is in the best hands with Silvia and her vet; Silvia takes on the ones others don’t want or haven’t the experience – remember Alfonso, the aged starved podenco in the Jerez killing station? At least during his last few days he felt her kind hands and gentle voice. Fingers crossed for this little lady.
Poor little girl, I hope she gets better after the removal of the tumor. So sad. But now she feels love.
