    ‘PORRON IS SETTLING IN THE HOUSE’ One week after Porrons girlfriend left to go to her new home Porron, who initially missed her so badly,is settling into the house very nicely! He loves all our dogs who have accepted him very well and he particularly likes the soft dog sofas, especially if he can find a cuddly toy to chew! He is a lovely boy, 18 months old, house trained, neutered, innoculated and of course microchipped! He loves the car, he even spent a day in the office with me this week where he charmed all the staff and visitors. He really needs his new home to come along quickly .   • Alicante – hunting hounds in dire situation – anyone help?

    This link will take you to a Spanish blog by an animal lover living in the Alicante area who desperately wants some help with a problem of hunting dogs in a dire situation. This is a translation of his article.

    HUNTING dogs abused in BENISSA – we have a “neighbour” here in Benissa, Alicante with 6 hunting dogs chained and had imprisoned in a small 2 x 2 mm hole covered with Tin… temperatures in the summer go to more than 50 degrees, dogs suffer terribly, they cry and are barking day and night and live and die in hell on their own “shit”…

    My wife and my mother-in-law are traumatized by this cruelty, ave sent our complaint to the City Council, and after 8 months they responded that ‘what do we expect when living in the country’. I have pictures taken of these dogs and their suffering but not sure what to do with them as no one here seems to want to know anything?’

Their best hope for a comfy sofa for life is on mainland Europe or the US. Please contact Laura at The Kennel Klub if you would like to be considered for one of these lovelies.

    GOLDIE has blossomed in to an extremely handsome young man – he looks like he spends hours every day applying eyeliner jejeje! He is one year old and has been living in a kennel since he was just 3 months old, firstly in the pound and since we rescued him with us. He is extremely affectionate, good with other dogs and a lively, active, fun dog. He knows how to sit but he does need training as he has missed out on his puppy lessons! He will make a great, faithful friend for the right family. He is in Lanzarote but transport could be arranged for the right home.

  • The truth about podenco breeders in Spain & Eastern Europe

    Thinking of all the agony and suffering podencos go through in Spain and that it takes more time for them to find a forever family, the first picture makes me so angry! She is from a breeder from podencos somewhere in Eastern Europe, I think. The second picture below is from a breeder in Spain. These are just as nice with a matching carpet, couch, table and walls but they don´t have that, they live on cement without carpet or sofa…no hugs for them neither good food, just old bread and a life of misery.

    Maybe you have to work in rescue to understand and see how they come in, scared, nervous, skeletons, hungry, awful wounds, abused, beaten etc. and you want so bad to find them a loving family. But the breeders’ dogs don´t know that kind of agony, no, they live a life of luxury because her dogs will have pups like her brothers and sisters and their offspring also and will be sold for a lot of blood money.
