Special home required for Podenco Maneto Harry

Harry 5 sleeping 390Introducing the perfect Podenco Maneto, Harry. Here is his story. Please contact Rocio Cangas if you are the special person for him.

This wonderful little dog is in Madrid

Harry was found a cold night on the eve of Christmas of 2014. He was only 2 months of age, he was small and fragile. It was later when the people who rescued him realized why she had been abandoned. Harry has a physical deformation (among other things). Harry was born with his two front legs shorter than his hind legs, with the time got twisted, too. This makes it difficult for him to jump on the sofas and stuff like that. But he can run and climb steps without any problem.

Our little Harry is also autistic, in general terms, doesn’t obey, nor necessarily follow you or comes when he goes out for a walk, or you call him; you could easily lose him on walks if he is not supervised, as he tends to follow his own path.

Harry is also epileptic. This means that he has to take a couple of pills a day.

Harry used to spend hours alone in his foster home, so started to chew on everything he could find, this also helps him to relax when he feels just a little bit restless, but with a bit of supervision is fine. The ideal is to have a lot of things and toys he can bite, such as old t-shirts, old shoes, ropes, etc. For the rest, Harry is a very lovable dog, a love, loving and faithful.

Harry Anabel LG 400Harry doesn’t need much exercise, but he loves to play with toys and with other dogs. Gets along with dogs and cats and a dog is very fun and entertaining!.

Harry has all his shots up to date and he came back negative to all the tests of infections.

Harry needs a family that can meet his needs, a little push here and there to help him get on the couch, a little bit of patience to understand what he wants/needs, monitoring so that he doesn’t bite down on some things, and lots of love.

We are looking for a special home without a lot of animals, so Harry can have the attention he deserves. A retired person/family, or someone who does not work would be ideal for him, since Harry needs supervision and attention in case he has a heart attack.

NB Rocio, who is fostering this special boy, also says ‘ Harry will not be travelling by van or similar if he finds a home outside Spain. He can only be taken by me, so Uk is not an option. He is autistic and epileptic and cannot be placed in a cage for days whilst travelling, so he will be flying in cabin with me
