Letter from Protectora Arca de Noe to the Hunter that abandoned to this podenco (and to all other hunters)
26/9/2016 – Today is one of those days that I prefer not to write about but I am crying in rage at the cruelty of others, on behalf of the volunteers of the Association the Ark of Noah of Córdoba.
Last night we went to sleep with a broken heart. We received notice of the existence of a dying dog at Los Villares peri-urban park, a hound from one of the rehaleros” (dogs for hire for hunting). Within our huge limitations we got to work and within a couple of hours we went to help him. But upon arrival, we found his lifeless body, invaded already by flies.
A while before we had seen his photo, the image of a dying hound nailing its eyes to the camera, screaming a silent plea for help. And we all wept to know of his agonizing death which filled us with anger and rage against the abandonment and abuse of these animals by the hunters.
Hunters, you use and then abandon the dogs who work for you: we aringvery tired of share this world with you. I wish I didn’t know anything about you, hopefully your misdeeds would never have crossed our path.
We have the misfortune of having a sensitive heart to suffering (dogs and other species). And why you do us damage, we mourn your guilt.
To you a dog is nothing more than a tool. Since you won’t change your attitude for them, do it for us who are the same species as you – we are men and women, but perhaps we are something more evolved because we are good and care for the animals. Since we have to share the world, make a more bearable co-existence for us. We would love to no longer see podencos starving, galgos with shattered legs, Breton Spaniels at the edge of death, and find so many corpses.
Read these words, Senor Galguero, and remember our pain when one of your dogs is mortally wounded, is old and no longer serves you, or aging simply attached to the wall with a half-meter chain.
While you decide, think a little of our grief whilst we continue looking for another world.
I wish that hunters and dog lovers would not have to share it, because, believe me, it makes it unbearable for us.

Oh my God, this is seriously distressing. What did this poor dog die of? Was he starved, shot, sick? Instead of taking a photograph of this dog dying why didn’t that person help him, take him to the vets? That may have been more helpful than taking a picture. That would be my first actions, not “oh look a dying dog, I must take a picture”. I am so sorry for the rescue who obviously did everything they could to go and save the dog and have to put up with these horrors day in day out. These hunters are sub human scum. I hate them!
