Unfortunately, the pictures make the food seem better than it is. The reality is this stuff is AWFUL for your dog. It’s full of sugar, artificial colors, and 3 unnamed animal sources. And very little vegetables.

Podenca abandoned in Valencia – puppies stolen
A sad story that is all too common to podencos abandoned to fend for themselves. This is from Podencos Rescatados.

This podenquita was found her a town of Valencia Province; had given birth to a litter of puppies (probably a new mother for how young she is). She had been tracked for a while by people trying to rescue her. She has suffered so much in her short life that she became fearful and didn’t want to be caught. Somebody decided that it would be easier to take the pups from their mother, leaving her in a sad state, dejected, without understanding why they were taking her little ones, never to see them again.
luckily there was a person who never forgot her and sought help to catch her, using a cage trap for several days, until she finally went in and was able to be rescued.

From olive grove to agility in the UK – Podenca Fern flies the Flag for Pepis Dog Rescue
Podenca Fern was abandoned in the campo by a British guy and taken to Pepis Dog Refuge. After months of waiting she was taken to the UK and homed. She’s now doing agility training and this weekend won her first clear round rosette. Wonderful!

Hunters – uncontrolled breeding of dogs…
Podencos puppies, kept in poor conditions, the uncontrolled breeding which should be STOPPED! This is what the authorities should pursue, this is unacceptable animal welfare!

The neglect of podencos
Writer: Jesus Villanueva Jimenez.” Canelo is a podenco, although he is not aware of his advanced age. It’s really not that old, if you had been adopted by a family animal lover; your age would not be an impediment. On the contrary, you would received more love and attention.
However, Canelo is owned by a hunter. The greater part of his life, along with other dogs of the same race, has been subject to being chained from the neck barely able to move on a square meter of rough, hard and cold cement. Between the walls of gray blocks, under a roof of asbestos, under the same conditions, lying on their excrement and urine, all with chains around their necks, toiling along with Canelo are a dozen more hounds. Sentenced to life imprisonment-never better.
