Podenca Amber – Lanzarote to UK – can you help?

The Kennel Club Amber 250 2 2014Regular readers will know that I often mention the podencos waiting in the Canary Islands for forever homes, and that it is expensive to get them to the UK for rehoming. This is an appeal to ask if you can help towards getting this beautiful podenca to her forever home. Laura tells the story.

‘This is AMBER. She is an 18 month old female Podenco. She was found by holidaymakers and ended up in the dog pound. We went and met with them as they desperately wanted to take this beautiful girl home with them.

Plans were made and finances organised but sadly in the last 3 weeks a lot has changed.

Shortly after arriving home Amber’s potential family’s home was damaged during the storms in the UK. They have thousands of pounds worth of damage to their property which the insurance will not cover.

They have done a lot of research on the breed and read all about the suffering they endure as a hunting breed. They really, really want to give this little girl a home but can no longer afford the cost of flying her home.

CAN WE HELP TO RAISE THE MONEY TO SEND AMBER TO HER NEW FOREVER HOME? It’s going to cost about 700euros but anything would help if you can spare just a little.

THANK YOU.’

I would like to help the familiy to pay for the transport costs but I have no pay-pal account. Is there a way to get in contact with them? The price is really expensive. Did you ever try another airline or route? I know it costs around 80 euros to fly a dog from Spain to Germany.
