Abandoned Valencia Podenca – now safe with Little Pod Association

Podenca with tumour 250 1 10 2013This poor podenca was living in the streets of a village near Valencia, and a girl was feeding her. An appeal was made for someone with room to take her and Little Pod answered. The poor podenca was wandering the streets carrying this extra baggage – a hug tumour. She has been named Eva.

She was caught and taken to the vet where she was kept in under observation over the weekend. They will operate today (14/10), but there are many complications. They will do an ultrasound to check for puppies but they have to do an x-ray too. There are 2 more tumors and she will have to have her whole mammary canal removed which will take 3 operations. They can’t spay her at the same time so she will need a 4th operation.

Obviously it is more complicated if she is pregnant as they will need to spay first but the large tumor is already ruptured and there was a lot of blood in the car.

She is in pain and very scared as she did try to snap twice but she is still very sweet and gentle.

The x-ray will determine if she has more tumors and if they have spread to her lungs and liver.

Everything will be done for her but her treatment will obviously be very expensive.

Little Pod Association will be very grateful for any donations towards the vet fees.
