The first one is about 12 podencos living in appalling conditions on a farm in San Roque, Tenerife. The foundation Animal Help Canarias reported the poor state of the hounds on a finca. The way the animals are crammed in the back of a private estate, continuously chained without any room to move. The precarious facilities do not meet the necessary hygiene and dogs have “not even enough food or water,” said a spokesman for the foundation. “Neighbors often call these situations to denounce”.
According to the foundation, these situations of abuse are continually repeated: most victims are hunting dogs, especially podencos. The animals of San Roque show clear signs of starvation and are not vaccinated. “We suspect that they have not even a chip. All these irregularities earn a penalty of more than 7,000 euros”.
They have discovered that there are several similar cases exist along the ravine Santos. “We have another group of 70 animals discovered whose living conditions are bad.” According to the members of this foundation, their first step dialogue. “We will try to resolve the situation with the owner or at least that he will give up these dogs, but probably we should resort to the report,” the spokesman said.
Videos of the 70 dogs are follow the above report. Ploease view.

Why,oh,why, do they pick on these poor souls,,, just look into the eyes of a Podenco and you must have a heart of stone not to be moved to near tears,, they are so full of love, and thats what they ask in return from us,,,, so why must they be so persecuted,,,,,God bless them all, and the Groups who tend to them,,,,,,
I totally agree with both of you! I have a galgo/pod cross (Gandalf) and he is the most loving, devoted and precious soul. I am blessed to have him in my life and anyone who can carry out such barbaric cruelty simply has neither a heart nor a soul! I hope these poor little podencos will find their happiness. Well done all those who are trying to help.
