This is little Noa, a podenco of 1 year old. He was found with his mother and another pup in terrible conditions. His moma was in a state of extreme neglect, skeletal, bleeding, with an impressive pyometra, abused, among her excrement, lying there with babies and trampled by more hounds in a shed where this hunter was breeding and selling for hunting!!

The hunter wanted the baby sacrificed and said it was worthless, some babies died,,, no wonder .. and this poor little one has been struggling for his life, was in a state of extreme thinness, malnourished, unable to suck his mom, who had problems breathing and bleeding and mastitis…

Luckily the volunteer was able to get them and take them straight to the vet.

Sadly the other pup died but Noa is fighting to live. He is being treated for infection to his chest (hence the collar), is eating too. He still has a lot of weight to gain, his anaemia is improving, he has eye drops for infection but overall the state of Noa is quite favourable. There were fears that he would need another operation but it looks like he may be ok. His mom is still struggling, very ill and will have another vet examination this week, she may also need an operation.
