Portuguese Podenco – looking for his forever home – urgent before he is killed
This little chap is Hippi, a Portuguese Podengo on death row in Olivenza Perrera. He really needs to be rescued and found a home. This type of Podengo is not as common as the Ibizan and Andaluz, so it would be good to get him.
Hippi is about 1 – 1.5 yrs old, stuck in the over full kill pound at Olivenza – I have his release fee 30€ donated already, but no where to take him to for foster/adoption…he gets along well with the other dogs he has had contact with at the pound and is a friendly dog, if somewhat scared in current circumstance – have to get him out in the next 10 days…the pound is over flowing 🙁
Contact me if anyone can help.

Thailand – Animal Welfare Act – why can’t Spain Act?!
Not podencos or other Spansh hunting dogs. We think Spain is barbaric in it’s t4eatment of them, that’s nothing compared with Thailand. BUT they passed their first Animal Welfare Act in November 2014. So why can’t Spain act?
Here is the weblink to read about it.
And please sign this petition against the illegal trade in dog meat. Warning – upsetting pix.

All Podencos should enjoy life
From Bev Farmer of Podenco Friends, Murcia
This video is to say thank you to everyone for believing in us and allowing us to realise our dream. A year of a thousand tears and a million smiles. Times when we were overwhelmed and it all felt too much…. then those magic moments when anything seemed possible. So many of you have reached out and helped in so many ways without you we could not have achieved so much for this forgotten breed of Spain.
Together we saved so many … together we gave them a future. We will never ever be to able to express how grateful we are to each and every one who supported us
