Podenco Aslam -livng wiith a broken body for too long
How has this poor podenco lived for so long with a broken body. Here is his story.‘He is Aslam, a young man with a sad story. Aslam was found in January 2023. They saw him alone, limping and looking for food. After one more they managed to catch him but they had nowhere to take him.
A good man took care of him, took him to the vet and they saw that he had a broken hind leg femur, but the operation was very expensive, so they couldn’t operate on him.
We knew the story of Aslam months ago, we don’t want to imagine the pain he must have gone through all these months…. A few days ago Aslam arrived at Suspiros along with two other puppies he shared a kennel with (we introduce them this weekend). He’s already been to the vet and confirmed that the femur is still broken and very displaced, so he has to be operated on. But of course, the recovery from that surgery is long and very difficult to do at the shelter.

Grieving our losses – losing a canine companion
We’re all been there, had to say farewell to a canine companion, whether through age or illness. They always take a piece of your heart with them, but leave you with lots of wonderful memories. And during the grieving process, a house without a dog isvery empty. And so we adopt again. The new dog isn’t a replacement for the departed one, as it will have a completely different character and different needs. And we know that at the end of its life, we will again put ourselves through the pain of losing it.Grieving our Losses article.

‘Hey there! I’m Franco with a problem. My problem is that my sister Bandera, is leaving me. She got an offer of a forever home. The thing is, I love her and I’ll be so lost without her. She is travelling to the U.K. in December and I’m wondering if I could get someone to offer me a home, so that we can leave together. I’ll miss her terribly you see, I don’t know if my heart can take it. Can anyone give me a chance to get on the happy van with my sis?
