    ‘Tilly came into my life in 2003, I will never know who was the kind person that lifted her out the dumpster .. their kind act changed hers mine and many other podencos destiny: If I was to tell her story it would begin something like this:

    “Whispers of Freedom: Tilly’s Tale”

    In a small village nestled in the hills, where the echoes of tradition and the simplicity of life intertwine, lives a spirited podenco.

    Chained to a wall in a dark, desolate building, Tillys eyes reflected both fear and hope. Her once sleek frame now a haunting silhouette, her ribs and hips visible beneath her thin coat. Her days were marked by the rhythmic clinking of her chain against the unforgiving walls.

    The day arrives, and Tilly’s world opens up as the door swings ajar, inviting in a flood of light. Excitement surges through her, for today holds the promise of freedom, of the wind in her face and the open field beckoning her to run.

  • Is there a right time to rehome your dog?

    Sometimes – due to changing circumstances – a dog needs to be rehomed. It could be the owner has died, moved into a care home, is too ill to look after the dog and the family can’t/don’t want to take on the dog, becomes homeless. It can heartbreaking for the owner and the dog is confused because it doesn’t understand what is happening.

  • Sick and Abandoned with missing eye, teeth, starving, pregnant – safe with Galgos Rescue Almeria

    Galgo’s Rescue Almeria on 4th December, we’ve named her Honey.

    This precious little girl came into our care yesterday.

    Honey is estimated to be 5 years old, the least we can say is that she will undoubtedly have had a very tough and difficult life until now.

    It’s actually a miracle that she’s still alive, God knows what she has been through and endured.

    This precious girl is supported by Helping Animals Almanzora.

    Honey’s story.

    She was kindly rescued from the road looking lost two weeks ago. Her rescuer took her to the Vet to check for a microchip which she doesn’t have. Poor girl was missing an eye and the socket was infected, she’s also missing her front top teeth. Honey didn’t look in the best condition and was presenting with signs of Leishmania. Obviously she also has had multiple litters previously.
