The horror continues – Podenco hung and burned on a bbq
Earlier in the year in the town of Torreperogil (Jaen) a neighbour found the corpse of a Podenco Hound hanged and burned on a barbecue near the town. The owners of a veterinary clinic of Seville have reported the facts to the Seprona and the Local police.
Canine educator David Lorente confirmed that the dog had no chip, so it made it difficult to search for the perpetrator of the crime. “If I had it, the first action of the veterinarian would be reporting to the Seprona. Only with that information can we ensure that the appropriate actions are initiated”, has confirmed Manuel Serrano, provincial Coordinator of PACMA, Jaen.

Please sign and share – justice for Pelucha
Please sign and share this petition widely. The sub-human creature who perpetrated this murder must be caught and brought to justice. Here is the English translation.
We ask through our signatures that you please investigate the murder of Pelucha in Villanueva de Alcardete, disappeared on 4 February and found the 6th in the vineyard of its owner, fully calcined. (calcined – dictionary definition suggests burned)
As an animal and not having suspects, SEPRONA decided that a little more could be done. This is intolerable, cannot go unpunished the one who is able to murder in cold blood to a living being and we will not stop until Seprona open an investigation on the case looking for the culprit (or guilty) of such atrocious act and fall on him the full weight of the law

On the frontline – animal rescue in Murcia
Another rescue story – 2 podencos, one pregnant, and galgos from a local kennel. Tina of Galgos del Sol tells the story.
’10th February 2017. We got a call to say that a galguero locally had been closed down and fined by Seprona and could we help take the dogs. This was an emotional case for us because it’s on our doorstep and we had been waiting for some time for this news. We had approached before to help to no avail and we had reached out to the authorities but nothing happened. There are a lot of ghosts around this place. I don’t want to write about them but I’ve seen them and I’ve cried and I’ve waited this moment.

Why I adopted a Podenca called Reina
For those of you following the story of little podenca Reina – she who walks on 2 front legs! Here is the story written by her adopting Mom about why she chose this sweet and deserving dog.
Story from a Future Podenco Mother
After the loss of my former Podenco Takkie in December, I just only wanted to look on the Internet and get a good laugh to comfort me, by watching Podenco videos, knowing these dogs are the funniest in the world!
But the laugh turned into Love at First Sight, seeing Reina in one of the videos.

Bravecto flea & tick treatment – warning
Last year I published a warning about the result of using Bravecto oral flea and tick treatment on dogs – there is a continuing campaign being run on a facebook page to have it banned. Many contributors have had dogs become seriously ill and in many cases after vets have recommended using it. Here is the link to the article I published about it on my other blog Galgo News.
