MANIFESTO FOR THE EQUALITY OF ALL DOGS. Join with your organisation!

As many of you already know, there is an attempt to exclude hunting and working dogs from the Royal Decree on animal facilities (núcleos zoológicos) — their last chance to be protected. These dogs would be left even more unprotected under a decree issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, which would only require registration, identification, and little else. Reporting the poor conditions of hunting packs (rehalas) would become even more difficult.

This is a political decision, not a regulatory one, because the RDNZ stems from the European Animal Health Regulation, and the only animal health law in Spain — Law 8/2003 — makes no distinction between one type of dog and another.

In other words, if they want to, they can include all dogs in the Royal Decree on animal facilities for companion animals, thus requiring an improvement in their conditions.

For this reason, we have written this manifesto and we are asking as many organisations as possible to join us, as well as to help spread it so that others can also join. From there, we will organise further actions.
