From Bev Farmer of Podenco Friends.
‘The last flight of Podencos from Lanzarote was in February this year and all those lucky podencos are now in their forever homes.
We were ready to fly these 4 over, then COVID hit and no flights so they have been stuck in residence in the Island. Laura and her team have been making sure the dogs have been taken out on regular walks and spending time with them ..All 4 of them are very comfortable with people spent time with children so ready to be rehomed.
The Podencos on Lanzarote have little chance of finding homes on the Island and limited transport links makes it very difficult to fly them out . So that is where Podenco Friends come in we bring them to the Finca from here there are more opportunities for them to be rehomed.
Please give them a share… together let us find them their forever sofa they have been stuck on the island for months and they deserve a second chance.

For Travis, Frank, Carmen and Crystel. (photos below are in the same order)
Saving Podencos – Giving them a future
Travis he is around 3/4 years old and great with people. He would be OK with older kids. He is not great with males dogs, He would be better as an only dog.
Frank s about 4 years old and he is big but lovely. He is a confident and friendly boy. Good with other dogs and gentle with children. Lovely nature and just a happy dog
Carmen is around 2/3 and a sweetie. She is good with other dogs loves to play and encourage other dogs to play with her. Very friendly with people and ok with kids. Fairly lively but is responsive to training .
Crystel also around 2/3. She was very nervous when she arrived but come on in leaps and bounds. Great with other dogs but she does like her own space. She is a really gentle, calm and lovely dog for someone who will have a bit of patience with her. She is lovely with kids who are used to being around dogs.
