From Ann at Nnn’s Canine Care in Malaga.

‘It’s been a busy day and this evening we have another little podenco in our care. I’ve changed her name to Pearl as it is very similar in English and Spanish. And she is a little pearl, she’s very frightened, and apparently an escape artist. But for now let’s see what tomorrow brings. Pearl was rescued by Sos Peludos Comarca Guadalteba Sospcg from a life threatening situation, but had nowhere for her to go.

First thing to do is have her blood tested, and then prepared for adoption. At the moment I’ve no idea how long it will take to turn her around to a confident young lady, but we will do our best.

Pearl is only 2 years old, and God knows what she’s been through to be this scared

Update on Pearl

I took her for a little walk round the play area today, and she’s so scared, she walks quite well on the lead, but any eye contact with her and she pulls back and spins. So I think we’re in for the long haul here. She reminds me so much of Spice when he first came. So back to real basics of gaining her trust.
It’s such a shame because she’s a really sweet little dog
