The world is crying, Papa Podenco rest in peace
Beverley’s message:
‘Yesterday Warren died in his sleep. I can not believe he has gone, we have been together for 32 years .. Friday was the most horrible day on my life dealing with various officials from the police, the Guardia Civil, the ‘coroner for 10 hours until he was taken for an autopsy. Last night I didnt dare go to sleep in case I didnt wake up. Today the dogs are sat looking at the door waiting for him to come through it .. it’s heartbreaking to see them. My lover, my confident, my best friend, my team mate who put up with my crazy ideas, who shared a passion for the Podencos.
This is the last photo I took of him on Thursday afternoon, we spent time with Xana’s pups and we were both laughing at them, they were so funny to watch. We had been discussing the need to build a compound for the pups and what needed doing over the weekend. After settling the dogs down for the night, had dinner, watched some TV surrounded by the dogs. Warren’s final job of the night, he went to check in on Jupiter and the pups and took her out for a quick walk. His last words to me on Thursday evening were ‘mum and pups are fine’.
Now he has gone and life will never be the same, he was only 58 years old, too soon to be snatched away we had such great plans for the future and without him they will never happen. This morning I discovered his coffee mug and spoon he had placed ready for his morning coffee to start the day .. that just tipped me over and the tears didn’t stop falling..
Life is precious, never take if for granted, let those closest to you know that you love them. I never got a chance to say goodbye, there are so many things I want to tell him and I never will be able to…
Sleep well Warren, you were good man with a big heart, I will miss you forever.’
