Thinking of all the agony and suffering podencos go through in Spain and that it takes more time for them to find a forever family, the first picture makes me so angry! She is from a breeder from podencos somewhere in Eastern Europe, I think. The second picture below is from a breeder in Spain. These are just as nice with a matching carpet, couch, table and walls but they don´t have that, they live on cement without carpet or sofa…no hugs for them neither good food, just old bread and a life of misery.
Maybe you have to work in rescue to understand and see how they come in, scared, nervous, skeletons, hungry, awful wounds, abused, beaten etc. and you want so bad to find them a loving family. But the breeders’ dogs don´t know that kind of agony, no, they live a life of luxury because her dogs will have pups like her brothers and sisters and their offspring also and will be sold for a lot of blood money.
But for every dogs she sells, a dog in a killing station will be euthanised because nobody wants him or her. And the worst part is that a woman working for a French organisation in galgo and podenco rescue buys them and a FB page who says they dedicate themselves to raise awareness for the Spanish mistreated galgos and podencos let them put these pictures on their page to promote them and everybody says ooh and aah!!
Therefore these dogs should NEVER be send abroad without being castrated so people cannot fill their pockets with blood money over the backs from innocent dogs. For these people don´t have a heart for the dogs, they are only interested in money
In rescue it´s the heart that matters most! DON`T BREED, DON`T BUY WHILE MILLIONS OF SHELTER
DOGS DIE !!!

That white one at the top looks like my little albino. The one thrown into a rubbish bin.
Plus ça change?
Absolutely spot on. I will never have anything other than a rescue dog. I made sure that my Mum got a rescue dog this time too. She had a puppy from a breeder last time. Her new dog has had two previous home and she was not treated well in the first home. She is a sweet dog and my Mum loves her. There are so many lovely dogs in rescue needing homes.
