I’d now like to introduce you to Carina, another fabulous podenca in foster with Bev and Warren. She is a gentle loving happy podenca and has been desperately waiting for her forever family for too long.

Bev says, ‘Carina is 6 years old, she had been in a shelter for a least 18 months before she came to us a year ago, I don’t know her history before then.

What can I say; she is a very sweet dog, hardly know she is in the house and is very loving. She is house trained and not destructive and walks beautifully on the lead, gets on fine will all the other dogs and we have male, female and puppies here some with big personalities.

The only thing negative, you have to be careful if she is asleep and is disturbed, she can be grumpy but I think that is something to do with her history. Because we are aware of this we always call her first if she is asleep and no problems. Just a couple of times the pups have jumped on her and she has given a growl to them.

She has her passport, spayed and was blood tested last year when she arrive and all ok.

At some point she lost a large part of her ear and I think this is why people pass her over but they are missing out on a really calm loving Podenco who will be a very loving companion.
