This is podenca Katy; she is blind; she is lucky to be in the safe and caring hands of Silvia of Galgos Connection Spain, and her marvellous vet. This is what Silvia says about Katy.
‘This is Katy, she is a special girl with a huge problem in the eyes, she needs an operation because her eyes are turned, the iris is inside; if she has this operation, there is every possibility that she will recover her sight. As always, please help towards her vet fees, we have many dogs in the pension needing our help. If someone can help please do it, Katy deserves to see the nice part of life.

Poor baby, she must be so frightened; so much going on around her and not being able to see a thing. What a marvellous chance of a forever home she will have if her sight can be restored.

Katy will soon have her sight back thanks to Paul Genders from Get you on LIne in Nottingham UK, who has raised £350 for the operation, we can’t wait to see her now..
Katy is coming to a new loving home in the US!
Well, hey, that’s good news. But everyone needs to know the story. A firm in the UK donated the money for Katy’s operation and they would have liked her to go to them. So, please let us have the news about her going to the US.
I dont want to speak out of turn and Im not sure what folks on this board know. And some else would need to address her adoption decisions. But what I do know is that unfortunately the operation to restore her sight was not considered a success. But Katy has been adopted to a couple in the US, New Jersey to be more precise. Katy & 3 others from various rescues will fly to the US in April. The adoption was facilitated by GRIN http://www.galgorescue.org
Hi Thanks for commenting, I intended to do an update on Katy but I get so many appeals in that sometimes things get overlooked. But I did email the update to the company in the UK who kindly donated over £350 towards Katy’s operation – they would have liked Katy to go to the UK but understand that Silvia doesn’t accept adoptions there because she doesn’t have a support network like GRIN, who have taken galgos and podencos back with them to the US and rehome them close by. I understand GRIN are taking some dogs back in January, is Katy not going in this group?
There was a good deal of starts & stops with trying to get katy to the US asap, but logistically nothing came together. The january pups are going to southern california, katy needs to arrive on the east coast.
Katy update. She will be coming to the U.S. in January! (but not with the first 2 dogs). Tina of Galgos del Sol has graciously agreed to accompany Katy & Mina (another puppy from Silvia) to the US at the end of month.
