Dexie is a 4-5 month old Spirit of Gran Canaria (Podenco Canario) that got the old dumpskee because she is broken – a busted leg. No good for hunting rabbits, therefore off with her head!
Sylvia stepped in with a mighty, “Not on my watch, boys!” Dr. Javier Castellano Vergara, Guancha God of Dumped Dogs, offered to do all the doctoring at cost.
Sylvia will pay out of her shrinking pockets for the operation, sterilisation, immunisations, microchipping, overseas testing, and flight fees, then hand-carry this innocent baby, Dexie, to the big-hearted animal folks in Holland; and Eva will take Dexie into her home to love and protect Dexie through the physical therapy until she is ready for Holland.
Thanks to Brian of ovely tale with a happy ending for one podenca on the Canary Islands – their only hope is to be adopted abroad.
