Please sign and share this – what planet are these people on that they stick their heads in the sand and ignore the horrendous abandonment of animals in Spain!
Last Hope Dog Rescue, Murcia, now has some beautiful podencos needing forever homes. Irene Allan tells the story.
‘Last year we rescued four puppies from Motril that were feral in the campo. The mother of these puppies has been difficult to catch and has been running with another podenco resulting in more puppies unfortunately. We have now collected the puppies as they were in danger and have delivered a dog trap to catch the mum. If we are successful, we will bring her to the finca to sterilise her and provide a sanctuary, so she may gain trust with us and eventually get Bonita her forever home. These are a couple of videos Steve made of the continuation of the Motril Posse .
A desperately tragic situation – if you can help Femke in anyway, please do. She writes –
‘You have probably heard about the Animal Aid Foundation (AAF) in Valencia, which for personal circumstances has to close its doors after rescuing animals from all over Spain for 20 years. I am one of the volunteers helping to rehome the dogs. There are some Podencos left, would you be able to help with finding homes for them? Thanking in advance.
We are also looking for people who are driving back to the UK happy to take a dog or two, for adoption families we find in the UK, so if you hear of anyone…
Please contact Femke through the website.
