In hot weather especially dogs can suffer from allergies just as humans do, as well as an allergy to fleas and food.
Here’s an interesting article on the subject.

Introducing Dumbo, a podenco x galgo. His body bares the marks of a life of abuse and pain, abandoned because he is no longer any use. Now he is forgetting that hard life and enjoying learning that not all humans suck!
He’s in a shalter but is hoping for a forever home. Here’s a video of him.

Campillos (Málaga).
I think Phantom would be a more appropriate name.
I recently mentioned AA Dog Rescue Spain who have several gorgeos podencos and podenco puppies waiting for forever homes.
The Association also offers Transport Services throughout Europe and the UK.

Stacey is a small podenco. These small podencos have huge characters as my little Bebe did, keeping all the galgos in line!
So this is little Stacey, 10kg and 3 years old, with Akira Dog Sanctuary.
If you can offer her a forever home, contact Haley at Akira Dogs.
And this is Charlie, a larger podenco also at the shelter. He’s a stunner and been waiting far too long for someone to offer him a forever home. Read all about him on this webink.
Let me introduce you to 4 little wonders 4 Podencos Manetto puppies for adoption. They are about 5 old. They were born in January 2023 and their mom is Georgita, also for adoption. Everyone at Puntanimals, who had found the mother with her cubs barely a week old… They all went to FA, with dogs and cats. Not adopted, they’re back at the shelter.

From Sandy at Galgos Rescue Almeria.
‘Tracy & Phoenix had an appointment at the vet for a general checkup and vaccinations. When these sweethearts arrived at Galgo’s Rescue Almeria they urgently needed immediate surgery. The traumatologist performed emergency surgery on Tracy’s upper leg on her right hind leg. (Tracy’s original story in March)
With Phoenix it was the elbow on the left front leg. For him it was waiting patiently that he recovered completely and that his leg could be saved as he had been wandering around with his fracture for weeks.
But now we look back with satisfaction on the work the vets at La Seda has done.
Both sweethearts are now ready for the next step in their lives going to a forever home.
Urgent Appeal from Animal Adoption International
Lovely little Ruby was abandoned in Spain by her family when they left Spain. She came to the UK and we found she was leishmaniasis positive. This is well under control and all she needs is a pill a day. We thought she had got lucky and was adopted by previous adopters of the association who also had a little pod. Sadly her luck hadn’t changed as the lady died of breast cancer and her husband gave Ruby back.
We found her the most amazing home again though, she had 2 small pod friends, 3 rescued older greyhounds and a large pod for company. It is the most amazing home and we thought Ruby had hit the jackpot. She had actually but sadly fate stepped in and a few weeks ago we got a message from the lady saying she had terminal asbestos lung cancer. How unlucky can one little dog can be.
Appeal from the Association in Cordoba.
WE NEED 195 € SO LADY AND HER FOUR PUPPIES CAN TRAVEL.
We rescued these puppies almost a month and a half ago. Mommy Lady had her babies thrown in the field, in the Fuensanta de Montoro, where they abandoned her like so many powers when they are no longer suitable for hunting. The poor thing was about to give birth, went to a nearby bar asking for food, where at least she received it and they even helped us to catch them. We didn’t know where her babies were so we couldn’t rescue them until they grew up and Mommy would take them to that same bar so she would feed them to her girls too.
The babies were fearful even days after their capture, they didn’t know what a caress was, nor a kiss, they had not had any kind of approach with humans.
It’s been amazing to see how much they have changed over the weeks and now they enjoy human warmth.
