Remember Operation Rehala in Bullas in January 2012? It was known the owner had animals on other sites. Well, you’ll be pleased to know the Bastard of Bullas has been tracked down to another site. Here’s what Bev Farmer reports.
BULLAS MURCIA 2014 ARRESTED A FARMER AND HIS SON FOR AN ALLEGED CRIME OF ANIMAL ABUSE
Tenerife, Canary Islands. A 77 year old man has been arrested because he murdered his pregnant podenca who was due shortly to give birth!
A neighbour reported hearing him kill the dog by beating it to death so agents from the Garachico nature protection service (Seprona) went to the place of the complaint. They found the podenca buried and a vet certified that death was because the animal had received repeated blows in the cranial area, as well as that the hound was about to give birth.
And the following story from Jane Brian of Pepis Refuge, Pedrera, Seville.
News update from the Scooby blog – they are taking some podencos which will need rehoming.
Meet Romy, a Podenco Ibicenco with Galgos del Norte. He’s nearly 2 years old and turned up near the home of his rescuer terrified, very thin and with clear signs of having been abused. She fed him and gradually little by little he allowed her to catch him and take him home.
He’s learnt there is another way of living where the humans give affection and warmth.
He is now a sociable dog, very affectionate, very good but rather mistrustful with strangers. He has learned to play with other dogs, loves to play with the ball, run and enjoys lying in the sun. He can live alone or with other dogs, but not cats. He seems to be enjoying his stolen childhood.
This is an appeal from Carmina in Seville about Argos, a lovely little podenco with RECAL Association – http://asociacion-recal.blogspot.com.es/ They need help with finding forever homes for their Podencos.
Please, it would be possible that you will publish in Podenco Post the request for help for them? I send you photos and details of ARGOS, a beautiful brown-chocolate male that has no luck. Thank you very much for your help.
ARGOS:
Sterilized Male
Date of birth: May 23, 2012
Height: 40 cm # Weight:14 kg
Character: Quiet, affectionate, obedient. He doesn’t bark. He knows how to walk on a leash and can live with other dogs.
Cool To Be Kind has been launched by Sarah Fisher. Basically it is encouraging people to make a short 2 minute video saying what your promise is to help and to be kind to animals. Then you nominate two or three other people to do something along the same lines. If they don’t have animals, they can help in a refuge, cattery, riding stables, donate food and/or medicines.
I was nominated by Natalie Osborne. Now you can see my Cool to be Kind video and I hope that many of you will join in and make a similar video, upload it to Youtube – and facebook if you have a page. Just nominate 3 people – make sure you ask their permission first – then make the video, upload and share.
