    Good with dogs: Yes
    Not tested with cats
    Suitable for families with children over 10yrs old: Yes

    Martin was rescued off the streets and was covered in ticks and injuries.
    He was bathed and the ticks removed and is now healed but has scars from the hard life he has led.
    He is now at risk of being PTS as the shelter he is in is closing and if a home isnt found then he will be sent to a kill shelter.

  • Gran Canaria – reality of life for podencos behind the sunshine and sangria

    Black podenca Emmi Animales GC 3 2016 250Gran Canaria – This black podenca was beaten to kill her and dumped in a trash bin. She was found, barely alive, rescued and taken to a vet. Karen, a Belgian podenco passionata who herself has a black podenca, has written this tribute to Emmi – who is bravely hanging onto life with enormous care from the vet team and volunteers.

  • Last Hope Dog Rescue – podenco at play

    Podenco Alliance are organising a Peaceful Protest in London on 1st May, more info to come. The same day, there will be one in Manchester and Glasgow. Here’s a lovely video from Last Hope Dog Rescue in Murcia to help publicity for the peaceful protest.

    Anca podenca blind 250 8 2015Pepis Dog Refuge in Pedrera, Seville, has an outstanding vet bill so far of nearly 4,000 euros! That includes sterilization of dogs (the first thing to be done with the arrival of each new dog, to prevent unwanted puppies), vaccinations, dogs needing operations, medication…the list is endless.

    It’s desperate that this bill is cleared and to that end Ellen Stevens and 2 friends have entered the team event in the Duathlon at Clumber Park, Nottingham, on 19th March 2016. If you look on the Youcaring link below, you can read all about it.
