  • Fuerteventura – top accommodation, sea views, great food!

200 dogs Fuerteventura 250 7 3 2012Ok, so now you’ve had the horror of Bullas, the gypsy camp also in Murcia, La Bienvenida refuge at Ciudad Real (got to lose 150 dogs as being moved to a smaller site) and now it’s the turn of the Canary Islands. Have you been there on holiday? Bet you haven’t seen this, on Fuerteventura! 200 dogs! Here’s a translation.

PUERTO DEL ROSARIO (FUERTEVENTURA), 7 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Protectora of Animals and Plants of Fuerteventura “OKAPI” has made an urgent desperate appeal for help to save 200 dogs that are on the verge of starvation, in the municipal perrera. Whilst trying to find a new facility in which to develop their work, the situation is hopeless, because there are not even the resources to continue feeding the animals. They need urgent adoption, sterilization and, above all, collaboration to clean and feed the animals, in addition to financial support or donations of food for animals.

Their website is in German, so anyone who can translate and find a donation button, please advise.

  • Operation Rehala, Murcia – 120 dogs at risk – the whole story

Bullos Murcia 2 250 3 3 201224 hours to save the dogs from Bullas
    6 March 2012
    by Irene Crespo

Yes, the authorities only granted 24 hours to rescue all the dogs in Bullas (Murcia) and out of the hell where they are. Removing the remaining 70 dogs in that situation in 24 hours … Mission Impossible?

Well this is not the first bureaucratic difficulty with which foundationn Pro-Setter (The association that is coordinatating the rescue of these animals) and volunteers from other organizations that work with them are encountering.
