I hate Crufts, mostly full of dogs whiich have been bred for showing and losing some of their natural characteristics… like Alsations with collapsing back legs, Bulldogs with severe breathing problems because their noses have been squashed into their faces …and lots more. Now we even have mongrels classed by the Kennel Club as pedigree – cockapoo!

However, wonderful Podenca Zarita has been flying the flag for rescue podencos at Crufts again. Let’s hope more people think about adopting a rescued podenco instead of one from a breeder!

There’s even a class for the Portguese Podengo in the Terrier section.
