Regalgos, Perrigalgos, the outcasts of Spain

‘The outcasts of the outcasts in the world of hunting – They call them Regalgos in Andalusia and
Perrigalgos in Castilla.

They are mongrels whose father or mother is a galgo and they are the ones no one notices. Galgos are easy to place, as more and more people realise what wonderful companions they can be in family. Podencos, although still problematic to place, usually have a size that facilitates their adoption.

But what about this new category of mix breeds?

There’s a group of volunteers in Andalusia who know a lot on this subject as they are dedicated to locate them and pick them up throughout the fields and villages of Cádiz, Seville and Huelva … They contacted us asking for help and luckily on this occasion we were able to comply.

So our Scooby team went down to Andalusia recently to pick up an entire van of galgos, podencos and perigalgos so as to enable these people to continue doing this incredible and anonymous work. For if there is a region where animals are treated badly in Spain, that is Andalusia and we (to the best of our abilities) want to keep helping them.
