Peaceful Protest for Spanish Hounds – 1st May 2016 in London, Manchester & Glasgow

Claire Caulfield podenco 170 4 2016So many podenco passionatas around Europe would love to join the Peaceful Protest Marches in London, Manchester and Glasgow today. They have sent messages of support to the organisers – here’s one from Claire Cauldfield. Claire writes: “Keep up the good work and make everybody aware of the poor hunting dogs’ plight in Spain. I live in Spain. Just 2 weeks after we moved here we found a podenco who had been dumped, barely 9 months old. The owner didn’t want her. We kept her. They are wonderful dogs. As you can see she has made herself at home. We take food every month to 2 dog shelters. It is so sad to see so many dogs there, most of which are hunting dogs. Good luck.”

Thank Claire, I was on the London march yesterday and it was wonderful to meet so many people who had a passion for Spanish Hunting Dogs, especially Podencos. All were well behaved. We had a number of passers-by stop and enquire what the march was about and also donated change. We got the message out there and I know we will not give up – another one next year. The organizers made this happen and the attendees were just great. One of the best days of my life – now all we need is the treatment of these lovely and loving dogs to be improved.

I hope everything goes well today, a worthy cause to march for. The more people who get to know about the plight of the Spanish hunting dogs the better. My lovely old boy greyhound was 13 on Saturday. I can’t leave him at the moment otherwise I would have loved to have been there. I am the thinking of all the people supporting the hounds and hoping for a better future for the Spanish hunting dogs.
