Frankfurter Hoggity Doggity Fernando has an association to take him – Last Hope Dog Rescue. Irene and Steve Allan are very experienced podenco adoptants, fosterers etc in the association. So I’m now sorting out transport to take him from Kate’s to them. Will keep you posted. BUT – we’ll need to raise the money to pay the transport costs, when I know them.
So, rest easy, Kate, help is on its way. Bless everyone for caring about both Kate and the podenco.

I’ve just seen this! Just posted a comment on the other post and then saw this!
D’you know that it’s on the other side of Spain? 512km! I mean, it’s marvelous of you and of them, but it’ll cost a fortune, perhaps 350-400€.
This is amazing – I can hardly believe it! Fingers and everything crossed that it really happens (‘cos it’s a very way away.) Thank you so very much, Beryl. I’ve found their Facebook page and the dogs look so happy – I could never have dreamed of such a good thing to happen to him – he’ll think he died after all and has woken up in heaven!
me too just posted on the other page yep they are good kate this is brilliant news well we will all have to chip in
Yippee! I’ve just rung MRW couriers, licensed transporters of pets, guide dogs, drug-sniffer dogs and small animals. He’dhave to have his apssport, microchip, rabies vaccination, but they can take hime, in an air-conditioned van, with a stop after half an hour for veterinary check and everything he needs, plus if it takes more than five hours, he’ll be unloaded for some rest, fresh air and cleanuing..
..and, if I pay, it’ll cost €136.14 including the transport cage for his size.
If the asaociation pays, they need to contact their local office of MRW, but ptice will be near enougfh the same. However, if they subscribe to the special, reduced-price plan for associations, they get a discount! (Perhaps not this time, but for next times.)
How about that?
136.14 plus 35 to evil-ra, oops, I mean elvira jejeje (that’s Spanish for haha) for the passport and I’ll try to slip her a Mickey Finn, whatever that is, and ship her offin a white slave ship. I’m not sure I can bear to see her, the foul bag, but I suppose if she came here at least she’d see the results of carelessness and I could tell her what I think of her.
Isn’t it good about MRW? Beryl, you should put it on your blogs, as the associations anmd shelters could save a fortune.
Sorry about the typos – keyboard is as old and sick as I am!
I’m not at7 all sure Fernando owuld want to risk having him as he is. He said from t7he start that he’d feel worried and guilty if he took dog while he still needed a lot of care, surveillance and possibly vetting. There’s another man who only has two dog sand is nice would like to adopt him, but Last Chance would sooo much better and now I’ve found an affordable transport option, I just long for it all to happen. What a lucky dog! Thank you all so much for helping me to help him – brinings tears to my eyes.
And, boy, will I be glad to have a rest!
Dioni has quoted 200 euros, I’ll double check if he would need the passport done.
I must remember to give him the x-rays to take. You’d all better remind me, or ask him to remind me.
I don’t know how soon I cd get a passport, because of Christmas, New Year and Twelfth Night.
As Charl takes galgos from Badajoz perrera which may not be passported. Dioni del Rio has said he will transport, quoted 200 euros, which is very good for the distance. So we need to collect that – please donate paypal to me band@bbrennan.eu. I’ve left it with Irene, Dioni and Kate to sort out a date, but with Xmas in a couple of days, it will be after that. Irene has already spoken to her vet about him. And the star that Charl Charlotte del Rio is, she has said she will take the stunning galgo Snoopy Dawg for whom Irene has been searching for a forever home but we also need to raise the funds to get the microchip changed from Last Hope to 112carlotagalgos. Will let you know how much that is. Thanks everyone – let’s get the Pod Dog there now.
I think it’s free to change the name, isn’t it? Or not more than a few euros, anyway, but I think it’s free. Vets (and the police) have access to the central registry and chnages it online. They don’t change the microchip – that’d be very painful. The chip’s for life and has its own number. They just change the name and address on the registry.
ok will send to you later mine and will let my friend know the details go hopperdy doggerty frank you have done it yippee and charl is great for what she doing Scooby is gorgeous they all are
snoopy that was meant to say and yes that is a great price for transport good on you dioni
This is where he’s going, lucky chap: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Last-Hope-Dog-Rescue/1389982637928663
Irene has just emailed and will let me know when Dioni’s coming to collect him. She says he won’t need a passport, so thank goodness, that’s one thing less for me to deal with. I wish I could give dog a strong sleeping-medicine for 36 hours – two nights and day of rest. He’s so BOUNCY now he feels better and hasn’t got splints on.
I said I’d post a list of what I’ve spent and received. I’ve tried but the layout squishes it and makes it incomprehensible, so I’ll email it to Beryl as pdf.
If he goes soon (pleeease) he’ll only have cost me personally 25€ and three weeks of chaos and utter exhaustion. Oh, and a lot more cycles of the washing-machine!
Moppi the cat will glad when he goes, too.
I’m sure Irene’s mistaken in saying he won’t need a passport, in fact I know she is. If Dioni is proposing to take him unpassported, he’s crazy, as he could be heavily fined, dog taken and snet ti perrera, possibly lose his transporter’s licenjce.
I ws just too tired to argue or to write any more, so i accepted it and have been asleep all day since.
Also, you write, “As Charl takes galgos from Badajoz perrera which may not be passported,” but you’ll find that taki9ng a dog from a perrera municipal means just the opposite – it means it is passported. That’s why you pay a release fee – it covers passport, chip, vaccination and deparasitasion.
Dog is whiningy and yappig in back porch and Ihave three days-worth of his doings in yard to clear up. (Have put sawdust onbthem.) House is filthy, am neglecting my duties t6o other charit6ies. It’s 2 o’clock, haven’tmanagef to get up, left arm and hand unusable, eyes sore, tyoing one handed – if Fernando’s still willing, he can take him and see how he gets on. If he brings him back, i’ll think again. i can’t do this any more.
is frank going to last hope or to Fernando
Would appreciate an update on Frank. I would like to help but am not sure what is going on. Surely the best thing for him would be to given the chance to take up the kind offer from Last Hope.
