Toledo – young podenco found in rubbish bin, badly beaten

3rd February 2014 – Toledo – hell-hole for galgos and podencos – in a village of Toledo. Podenco puppy found in a rubbish bin inside bag with a strong blow to the head, gored and hypothermic. Taken to the vet for emergency treatment. Prognosis awaited. Have asked for updates (if it survives) and if it was in Fuensilada, Motril, where the beaten and shot podenca was found last year. Poor little baby. Shame on the person who did this to an innocent. I hope he makes it, thinking of him and hoping for a good outcome.

Poor little puppy. I really hope that it is gonna make it. I still can´t understand the cruelty of some people in Spain. For what are we having the EU anyways if nothing is done against something like that what seems to be normal in a country like that. Maybe we should rethink our priorities.

The problem with the EU is that as far as animal welfare is concerned, each country has to sort out their own problems – which is why nothing much is achieved and why it is so frustrating for us all, trying to stop the abandonment and cruelty.
    Thanks for caring

I know what the problem is. It is just so frustrating. But as long as nothing is gonna change we will see pictures like that again and again and ….
How is the little puppy doing right now anyways. Is he doing a little bit better at least? I wish him all the best.
I have 2 Podis of my own and they are fighters. Both are coming from Perreras and had a hard time before they came to Germany but now they are doing just fine.
I´m holding my fingers crossed for the little one and wish him all the best.
