Do you remember the story of Podi, the podenca which had been badly shot and left dying. The case went to court because there was such an uproar in Granada. The case was heard this week and the judge has referred ti to the Criminal Court.

In May this year a Podenco (Podi) was shot three times in the head chest and leg which was partly blown off – the reason why? she was a stray and hungry looking for food despite been rushed to veterinary clinic Podi did not survive her horrific injuries.

But thanks to many who would not let this heinous act be unpunished they have battled to get justice for her this evening I read this….

The examining magistrate finds that there is sufficient evidence for the death of Podi is transferred to criminal court for trial.

The Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3 of Motril recognizes the events of May 3 in the town of Granada , when a Podenco was shot by a neighbor , killing him , and determines that the case should be transferred to criminal court in finally putting the trial date .

Now that they have completed the instruction of the case, it will be transferred to the public prosecution and accusations to formulate their indictments because of the steps taken indicates that there is sufficient evidence of a crime. Finally, it will be the judge of the Criminal Court that will adjudicate the case and decide the defendant’s conviction . The party will continue in the process Animalista prosecution.

On May 3 members of an animal protection of the town of Motril received a call from a neighbor when they heard shots and saw the dog running bloody. One contributor to this protective , who lives in a farmhouse nearby, the Podenco was moved immediately to a veterinary clinic helped by neighbors, where he died of heart failure by severe blood loss and partial amputation of the hind leg because of shot .’
