Blue Merle Podenco Billy searching for his forever home

A beautiful unusual blue merle podenco boy really needs his forever home. Here’s his story.

‘Billy is a very unusual ‘blue merle’ podenco dog, approximately 16 months old. He is 20 inches high (from floor to withers) and from tip of nose to end of tail he is 42 inches. We are not sure on weight as we do not have scales (but is regular podenco size if that helps at all).

He is a rescue dog and was originally rescued by CAS when found on the Rio Seco in Nerja Jan/Feb 2012. He has been in his current home since March 2012 and has come on in leaps and bounds since then. He now understands basic commands (Sit, Wait, Down, Out, Paw), and is very willing to learn more.

He has been castrated, However no Microchip, He is a lovely, kind natured, friendly little chap and gets on very well with other dogs (he lives with three others, and plays well with others when off the lead).

He has been amazing with my 6 month old son, and is extremely patient when having his ears pulled and little fingers stuck up his nose. He is very curious and playful and full of character and life, he is very good both on and off the lead (he is mostly walked off the lead as we are in the campo, but is always the first one back when called). He hasn’t had much experience with cats up close…only ones on walks that he and his buddies chase.

He currently lives outside at night, however is house trained (and would love to be an inside dog – he gets very cold and wears a coat some nights (we are very soft!).

He would make someone a very good best friend, we will be very sad to see him go.

We are in the Nerja area. We haven’t microchipped him as we just haven’t the money (We have 3 other dogs and a young baby also). This is also one of the reasons we need to find him a new home, he doesn’t get the time and attention he deserves living in such a busy house.
