This is Lara, a little Podenco Andaluz found abandoned and ill. She was rescued by an English couple who contacted SOS Animals. She’s now recovered and living happily in her forever home in the UK. Read her story here. SOS animals (UK) and Spain are a charity and rely solely on fundraising and donations. Please help them help more dogs like Lara and Chaplin.

Tilly Tea-Leaf syndrome ( Liberatio bonorum suorum) is a condition commonly known as the liberation of personal possessions. It was first officially named in 2003 after a Podenco called Tilly. This condition has been reported worldwide and effects all breeds of dogs, some more than others
Symptoms: The stealing of various items and running around the garden showing them off to everyone. In particular shoes, underwear, tea towels, cushions and in extreme cases mobile phones, TV controls and at times destruction of such items.

THOR is an angel, a big softy Podenco Campanero. He is very gentle and affectionate, weighs 33 kg, very sociable with other dogs, great with people. (SOS Animals have just found a forever home in the UK for another Campanero Chaplin)
Claudia is a pretty young choc female Podenca Andaluz, very friendly, her whole body moves as she wags her tail. Just wants somebody to accept her love for the rest of her life.

Malaga – Podenca Ana seeks your help
Do you remember the story of Ana, the podenca near Valencia, with a badly injured hind leg and who was so distrustful of humans that it took nearly 3 months to catch her. During that time she had some pups – who are in foster – and is now safe with 112carlotagalgos.
Ana’s problems were not over after she was caught. Vet Paco examined her injured leg and pronounced it too damaged to repair, then she caught an infection, and now she has had to have surgery to remove her leg. But not to worry, 3-legged amputees can run as fast as 4-legged if they want to! Charl tells Ana’s story so far.

Podenca Andaluz rescued off the streets – foster and adoption needed
This little podenca was rescued off the street and put in a garage with about 10 other dogs. She is heavily pregnant. She is now in a mini-refuge where she is receiving good care but she´s getting fat everyday and she will be sterilized when the problem of the puppies is over. Podenquitas mother and daughter, mother of 3 or 4 years and 1 year old daughter. The daughter is not interested in hunting, mother has been used for breeding. Little Podenca Andaluz Lucy, lucky to survive an horrendous attack
You may remember little podenca Lucy, recently rescued from beside a railway track. She was going through the process of having her EU passport prepared when she was the victim of a terrible attack by bigger dogs which nearly killed her. The second such incident I have reported recently.
She has umpteen wounds and stitches all over her body; she has a puncture wound almost on the jugular – a little bit closer and Lucy would not be with us. A miracle that she is.
