70 hunting dogs desperately needing to find rescue shelters

Yet another sad example of the horrors endured by Spain’s hunting dogs because there is no law to protect them.
The 6 month old puppies arrived from Alentejo this week. They were brought to Tiny Shelter by the very kind Municipal vet of Alentejo, herself. They are lovely dogs and clearly so excited to be in a new place …away from the CHAOTIC AWFUL PLACE where they lived…
All have small cuts and sores, proof that they had to fight for food , but apart from that, they are lovely ,happy, GRATEFUL puppies, excitedly smelling and investigating everything. He immediately vaccinated them , gave them very good puppy food and toys. These are some of the lucky ones, already removed … close to 20 have been removed…there are 50 left! (more…) -
TREASON BY THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT – STILL no protection for Spanish hunting dogs.
From Protectora y Santuario Scooby
TREASON of @msocialgob @pablobustinduy @joserrabecerra_ @animalesgob to the dogs “hunting” and “working” and the whole animalist movement.
Although the DGDDAA removed the phrase excluding animals included in the agricultural RD, it has used another formula to leave these dogs out, trying to deceive us all.
❌ The DGDDAA’s NNZZ Pet Animal RD project taken to public hearing and information excludes groups of 15 or less animals, i.e. the majority of hunters from its scope.
❌ At the same time @gobmapa brings to public his project RD of NNZZ “Traditional” in which it includes: -

HERE’S WHAT THE TRANSLATION OF THE PETITION IS IN ENGLISH. FEEL FREE TO USE THIS AN EMAIL TEMPLATE TOO. (THIS IS SUMMARISED SO IT CAN BE POSTED)I, [FULL NAME], holder of ID number [ID/PASSPORT NUMBER], submit this statement regarding the preliminary public consultation on the draft Royal Decree on traditional zoological centres to express my concern about its scope and consequences.
I support the submissions of Fundación AnimaNaturalis Internacional (CIF G67350462) and highlight the following:
– Definition of “traditional zoological centres”The current definition, based mainly on exclusions, creates legal uncertainty and allows overly broad interpretations. Clear, positive and restrictive criteria are essential to avoid including animals or establishments that should not fall under livestock health regulations.
– Exclusion of hunting dogs and other non-productive dogs (more…) -

Hunting with hounds in Spain finishes 31st January – pray for all the abandoned and discarded podencos

It’s not just on mainland Spain that thousands of podencos will be abandoned, dumped in perreras or left to wander villages in search of food. The Canary Islands are also a hellhole for podencos.
Pray for all these innocent souls who will suffer through no fault of their own because their unfeeling galgueros and podenqueros see them as an unfeeling tool rather than a sentient being.
