Podencos in the Canary Islands suffer a hellish life – hidden away in dark buildings or in valleys far in the interior. If lucky enough to be rescued and offered a home, their only chance is on mainland Europe or even the USA. All this means expensive travel costs on top of the pet passport and blood tests costs.
