    GdS Wiggles 400 26 9 2023
Surviving the streets on 2 legs

    From GdS.

This podenca survived the streets whilst carrying her back legs behind her every single day… we are hoping to change her future for the better. We still have some tests to go & specialists to see but we will get the best advice for her. She’s adorable & survived like a champion

The little Podenca that has no knee caps is now called Wiggles. We love that name, it really suits her as she was wiggling down the streets just doing her own thing. Wiggling in & out of bars doing her own thing. Wiggling across busy roads doing her own thing. She’s a wiggle pants. Welcome Wiggles

  • Podenca Karina waiting forever – is she for you?

    Bev Farmer Karina 400 9 2023
From Bev Farmer of Podenco Friends.

‘A couple of months ago I asked for your help for Karina. After many enquiries for her an adoption was agreed, but sadly the family have decided not to proceed.

Karina was handed over by her hunter, the reason he gave, she does not want to hunt only wants to look after her daughter so is no use to me. She has been in the rescue for 2 years and no interest in her.

Six years old and 23 kilos, she would be happy to be an only dog or possibly with with another female that is sensitive and calm and she is good with smaller dogs. Sadly she has been attacked by male dogs due to her very gentle nature. Pepa tells me she is very faithful to people quiet and calm, she loves to go out for walks.

  • Network for Animals & Galgos del Sur – saving 32 Cordoba hunting hounds

    From Network for Animals

The shockingly cruel treatment of Spanish greyhounds (Galgos) must be stopped in Spain. Will you stand with us today?

The sport hunting industry is full of cruel practices and a callous disregard for animal welfare.

We offer a glimmer of hope and relief to these terrified, injured and stressed animals.
32 hunting dogs were rescued from a nightmarish existence in a decrepit farmhouse. Many others like them desperately need your help. Chained, starving, and wounded, they have endured unspeakable suffering in appalling conditions.

We’re partnering with Galgos de Sur, a dedicated organization committed to confiscating, protecting, rehabilitating, and finding good forever homes for these abused hunting dogs. We are asking for your compassion today. Please support our crucial mission and help us end this disgraceful behaviour.

  • Podenca Nala with G&G Rescat in El Masnou, Spain – hoping for a forever home

    Nala 400 1 8 2923
    Nala is up for adoption!!

Nala’s story is very sad, abandoned and wandering the street for many months until she could be rescued. I was very afraid of people to know what he has been through.. but he’s been in a foster home for many months and we’ve discovered a lovely, very good and grateful puppy, social with other dogs and has changed a lot from how she got here.

Although she is still a little scared she is ready for adoption and finding a forever family that will love her very much, she is only about 2 years old! Soon she will be over the reception and she should come to the shelter, poor thing she wouldn’t understand anything.
