Last week Peque landed in Chicago, ready to begin an incredible new chapter. This moment has been months in the making, and his story is nothing short of inspiring.
Peque was rescued by Galgos Felices Fundacion six months before I shared his adoption post on November 23, 2024. Up until then, he hadnât sparked much interest. But that day, a message changed everything.

Investigating a hunter from Cadalso de los Vidrios for animal abuse after finding three dead puppies and 11 other injured dogs.
The owner had the animals unidentified and without any document control.
Agents of the Madrid Civil Guard have investigated a 44-year-old hunter for a crime of animal abuse when locating in the municipality of Cadalso de los Vidrios (Madrid) last January 8 three corpses of a puppy dog and 11 podencos with injuries to legs, ears and one with extreme thinness.

From PACMA we want to inform you that we are going to file a criminal complaint following the regrettable events that occurred on Friday 03/01/25 at the Granada Royal Herald parade, where a man kneed an ox in the face in front of dozens of children.
Many people have asked us how it is possible that there are still so many animals involved in these shows: the answer, although painful, is that the new animal protection law excludes practically all animals that are not dogs, cats or ferrets and as long as they are not for hunting or work. This excludes oxen, camels, horses, sheep, cows and other animals unfairly called âproduction animalsâ.
We need politicians committed to animals
Life for podencos on the Canary Islands is hell. Shelters do their best but no one on the Islands adopts podencos and it is expensive to fly them out to Europe to forever homes.
For six months, the 4-year-old Podenco dog Kala has been hanging on a chain in Perrera on Fuerteventura waiting for her human. Especially a torture for a Podenco with a great need to run. Kala weighs 18kg, is not castrated and shows himself good and social in the Perrera. Video of Kala, chained up in full sun with no water!!

Epiphany, Three Kings Day, the end of the Christmas period and the day to look back for the last time and close 2024.
First of all, we would like to thank all our partners for the wonderful collaborations. Thanks to joined forces, some 163 sweethearts were able to leave the shelter and start their new lives. New or renewed collaborations were also established with Italy, Lithuania, England and Germany.
In February we were able to pick up our GRA van that was fully sponsored by Greyhounds in Need đŹđ§ for which a huge thank you.
Plants can be an incredible addition to a home, but sometimes they don’t mesh well with our pets. Here is some info to keep your fur babies safe while still enjoying your green thumb!
