  • Podencos at Pepis Dog Refuge, Pedrera, Seville – donate to spaying and adoption please

Podenca Maria 400These beautiful podencos are with Pepis Dog Refuge, Pedrera, Seville. They have been waiting too long for their forever homes, some of them for years! They have their passports but all need spaying/neutering and blood tests. Please contact Jane Brian if you would like to adopt one. Spaying costs 110 euros, castration 60 euros, blood tests 47 euros. To get all the dogs done will cost 2216 euros. Donate here to pay for these ops.

Meet Maria, a lovely podenca about 7 years old. She has been sharing a pen with another dog at Pepis Refuge, Pedrera, Seville for many years. She is passported and spayed and desperately needs a forever home. Please contact Jane Brian if you have room in your home and heart for her. Share her, let’s give her Xmas 2017 in her forever home

Kaylee. Small Podenco. 19 months old. Such an amusing and happy little girl. She will adapt to anything presented to her. Passported. Not Spayed. Get her out and give her the life she would flourish in.

Honey. Female. Aged 2 years. A very laid back young lady. Takes everything in her stride. With training we could see her going a long way. Passported. Not Spayed.

  • Update on Podenca Libby’s pups with SOS Animals

Libbys pups 400 9 2017You will remember my appeal for help for podenca Libby and her 5 pups living in a cave and being fed by an Englishman living nearby. After he had to return to the UK (no choice in the matter) a local lady volunteer with SOS Animals stepped in. Libby and one of her pups are adopted by Vincent and a friend, the other 4 pups are growing fast with SOS Animals.

Thanks to your generosity along with others, enough money was raised towards vaccinations for the pups. Rescuer Sue has this update.

‘Big Bang Theory has provided the inspiration for the names for our four playful sibling puppies…meet (left to right) Howard, Penny, Leonard and Sheldon. They love each other very much. Penny is already reserved for a home in the UK when her papers are ready for travel.’

If you would like to ask about one of the boys, please contact SOS Animals.

  • 6th Fun Dog Show, St Pardoux – Sunday 3rd September 2017

I’ve been very busy these last few days organising and setting up for our 6th Fun Dog Show at our home in France, raising much-needed funds for Pepis Dog Refuge, Pedrera, Seville. Here’s a video I took of the showground and Best Crossbreed class. The judge was M Jean-Pascal Bichon, sponsors Blevins Franks for rosettes and souvenir programme and Pro-Nutrition Flatazor for the dog prizes.

My galga Carmela and Podenca Andaluz Bebe were both entered in the Best Veteran over 7 years old but unplaced, and galgo Polar entered Most Obedient – just missing out on a rosette.

  • Help the 4 rescued podenco x pups at SOS Animals

Libby pups Sue 3 400You may remember at the end of July I appealed for someone to help with a Podenco Mum and her 5 pups, born in a cave. The man caring for them had to leave, there was no room in any of the shelters, but luckily a local volunteer came forward. Mom and one pup are being adopted by their rescuer, but the other 4 pups are in the SOS Animals shelter in Coin and they desperately need the funds to prepare the Pet Passports so these gorgeous pups can be adopted.

Please share and donate to this fundraiser, every little helps

  • Vero – podenco rescued from the highway

This is a short video of little Vero, which I took on my visit to Pepis Dog Refuge in September 2016. Jane Brian received a call from her vet that there was a puppy injured in the village of Pedrera and could the refuge take him. I went with Jane to collect him from the vet surgery and here he is in the ‘hospital’, plucking up courage to come outside to play! He now has his forever home in the UK, named Dobby.

This is one of the many cases Jane and Alan deal with every week and why we continually need to donate and raise funds to pay the vet bill. Here are some ideas which you could do to raise funds and awareness and how to donate.

TRISHA is this month’s Dog of the Month – still waiting for a forever home. A lovely dog who doesn’t want to spend the rest of her life at the refuge…

  • Podencos at Pepis Dog Refuge, Pedrera, Seville – desperately looking for forever homes

Tammy 400There are many podencos and podenco X dogs at Pepis – some have been waiting years for a forever home – they have been looked after and loved by Jane and Alan and the many volunteers who help there. Please have a look at them and consider giving them the rest of their lives with a home, rather than a kennel

    Males

Funds are desperately needed to feed the dogs, to pay off the vet bill…with the poor exchange rate after Brexit it’s hit the refuge hard. Donate here
