Bev had to take Travis to the vet on 23rd January as he pulled out his stomach stitches after his operation. He was stitched up and went home. Yesterday this happened!
‘Oh Travis.. you scared me last night ! today he has eaten and been out for a few walks on the lead in the paddock.
Last night I had given his evening meds he was fine went to do something came back 5 minutes later to take him for a walk. To see blood everywhere on the walls the floor he was covered in it. He was trying to pull his insides out and screaming. Has I tried to strap it up to stem the bleeding he was trying to bite me he was in such a panic ..
The emergency vet Iām registered at is over an hour away I called a friend to ask for help. She rang her vet who is closer and they very kindly offered to open the clinic ..My friend dropped what she was doing and drove to the finca and took us to her vet. I had to hold onto Travis to stop him going for the wound..

URGENT NOTICE dogs in danger
Sevilla capital. Sevilla East
Found three dogs, a black galga with white rabbit tip and two cinnamon pods with tie and white boots. The greyhound and the smallest podenca wear a collar. They are very thin and full of ticks. The tallest podenca is puppy and very affectionate, the other two are more frightened but come a little closer with food. They’ve been left with water, food and blankets. Help is needed to do a routine and rescue them.
Anyone recognize them or can help them?

Read all about them, see the lovely examples. Contact Viv or Dan for more info.
We use the donations to save podencos from the streets and killing station, get them vet treatment, spay them, vaccinated them and pay the monthly kennel fees. When they are ready, we search adopters and foster homes for them
You can help us save more podencos with only 1 euro per month!
This is the worst case of mange I have seen in the 13 years since I’ve been helping the hounds in Spain. The Prdotectora Lugo in Galicia says ‘This little angel arrived a couple of hours ago at the Lugo Protectora, it looks like a little boy, brought here by the lacero from Begonte, it will be the waste of some hunter. Starving, sick and mostly cold dead, got into the heat of blankets and heat lamp. To know his life, what the poor guy has gone through, now he has to heal his body and surely his soul.
To the one who mistreats an animal like this, I wish the universe pays for it with the worst of life and the worst of deaths.’
‘Today we welcomed Lucia, this young podenco was seen by Melanie and Chris last week. They quickly gained her confidence and she came to eat with them, and today they were able to catch her.
At first sight Lucia appears to be in good health, Monday we take her to the vet for a full check up.’
